Casinos in Asia – The Next Great Passion?
A casino is an establishment designed to provide gambling, pool, card rooms, or some combination thereof. Casinos can typically be located near or mixed in with other hotels, tourist attractions, restaurants, shopping malls, cruise lines, and other forms of tourist entertainment. In some instances, a casino is also used for hosting live music, including concerts, stand-up comedy shows, and impromptu entertainment. The casino itself may be a structure designed to look like a traditional New York or Las Vegas hotel room or may be a privately owned building. In either case, a casino offers gamblers the chance to play a variety of games in a setting that resembles many of the other types of establishments in the area.
All U.S. Casinos must abide by the laws of the Gaming Control Act (GCA), which regulates all U.S. casinos. The GCA requires all casinos to have proper licenses, provide free admission to people of legal age, provide non discriminate policies, post warning posters about gambling activity and state clearly that all wagers are legal, with the exception of slot machine payback statistics and jackpot amounts. Casinos also have to post the hours they are open and provide contact information for law enforcement. Casinos must post the name of the nearest hotel to ensure that all visitors can easily reach the casino. Not following these laws and/or opening and operating a casino without the proper permits can subject the casino to immediate closure and ruin any future chances it may have of obtaining gambling licenses in the future.
There are different types of casinos that offer a variety of games to the gamblers of all ages and preferences. Most casinos offer a range of slots, video poker, craps, progressive slots, bingo, roulette, keno, slots, table games, kiteboarding, lotto, windjammers and instant games. Some Casinos also have in addition other activities such as food services, live entertainment and gift shops. In some cases there are also movie theatres, family amusements and live concerts in addition to gambling opportunities.
All US Casinos follow and comply with all the GCA laws and can only accept those players who are of legal age and who can clearly understand and follow all the rules. In many areas there are designated days when gambling is strictly prohibited to all underage guests and the local law enforcement. Casinos do not allow players to drink alcohol or use illegal drugs or any other controlled substances. This is a major attraction for people of all ages in the United States, where some countries prohibit gambling entirely. Casinos also provide an environment where people can relax and socialize, allowing people to make new friends and create new lifelong relationships.
Casinos are categorized into two classes, the first being Class III Casinos which are considered the most secure in the world and are usually located in or near large cities and wealthy neighborhoods. The second is Class II which is considered to be the least secure casino on earth. These Class III Casinos must prove that their main entrance is always protected with a high wall or watch tower. Many of these Class III Casinos also restrict internet access and also video poker machines.
Casinos in Asia are rapidly growing, especially in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. There are now some Chinese owned casinos in Malaysia and the Far East. In India, the government is trying to encourage gambling as it creates jobs, but at the same time it wants to discourage the wrong types of people from being attracted to this form of gambling. There are very few reputable casinos in Bali and all but one of the ones in Bali have been shut down by Indonesian officials for displaying unacceptable behaviour. The other type of Casino which is the largest in Bali is the Caracol Palace which is almost certainly the most famous casino in Bali.
